Really good historical fiction. Set in Andover, Massachusetts during the Salem witch trials. Sarah Carrier must stuggle to survive as her family, always outsiders, are targeted and her mother Martha is convicted of being a witch.Really brought the horror of it all to life, and the author is a tenth- generation descendant of Martha Carrier.
Book won the David J. Langum, Sr. Prize in American Historical Fiction.
