Handmade Chic, by Laura Bennett

Disappointing book from Project Runway star Laura Bennett. Too many of the projects were simply adaptations of each other, and as leather and fur are notoriously hard to sew, I don't think these would be possible on a home machine.

The Art of Creative Pruning, by Jake Hobson

Phenomenal and inspiring book. Breathtaking.

I Brake for Yard Sales, by Lara Spencer

Eh. She has some great finds, but obviously is in a large urban market, with a taste for midcentury, neither of which is true of me, so not a lot for me in this.

Enlightened Polymer Clay: Artisan Jewelery Inspired By Nature, by Rie Nagumo

Beautiful and inspiring pieces. So many great ideas and techniques in this, this is one I'd like to own.

Bringing Up Bebe, by Pamela Druckerman

Absolutely the best parenting book I have ever read. The first parenting book that made any sense. This made me feel so much better about being a mom, and let me shake off a lot of the guilt-trip of being an American mom. Wish I'd had this book months ago!

Terrarium Craft, by Amy Aiello

Beautiful but not especially helpful book. More about creating vignettes with plants than actually creating self sustaining terrariums.

Willow Weaving, by Truss Stol

Pretty lovely but short how to book on making sculptures with woven willow, which was lovely, but I was looking for a book on how to work with live willow to make structures, not sculptures.

Decorating with Books, by Marie Hueston

WORST book ever. I had hoped this book would give me ideas to make my house look less overrun with books, but this was about books as objects alone, separate from meaning. One suggestion included covering all spines with plain white paper covers!!!

The Art of Resin Jewelry, by Sherri Haab

Bleh. Aside from the fuss level, the projects were all pretty ugly.

Martha Stewart's Handmade Holiday Crafts, by Martha Stewart

The usual perfectionist insanity. Its like porn- I can't look away from the glistening pages and can't imagine having time to try a single one of the projects.

A Year in Earrings

A Year in Earrings: 365 Designs and Variations
Worst craft book ever. That is all.

Pretty Little Things, by Sally Jean Alexander

Pretty Little Things: Collage Jewelry, Trinkets and Keepsakes
Beautifully done craft book, mostly glass and soldering, very creative and inspiring, but the layout for initial supplies outweighs how much I want to try these things.

Steampunkery, by Christi Friesen

Steampunkery: Polymer Clay and Mixed Media Projects More polymer claywork by Christi Friesen, beautifully done, but not my thing.

Moss Gardening, by George Schenk

Moss Gardening: Including Lichens, Liverworts and Other Miniatures So beautiful, I wish it had had more photos though, and I feel like it was aimed at experts.

Polymer Clay and Mixed Media, by Christi Friesen

Polymer Clay and Mixed Media-- Together at Last: Incorporating Craft Materials and Found Objects in Clay FiguresI don;t know why the cover isn't coming up right, but whatevs.
This was interesting, in that Friesen is a rockstar of polymer clay, but not really my style.
Some good tips though.

Perfect One Dish Dinners, by Pam Anderson

Perfect One-Dish Dinners: All You Need for Easy Get-Togethers
Yum. Some geat looking dishes in here, but the one-dish thing is a total lie.

Rejuvenated Jewels, by Amy Hanna

Rejuvenated Jewels: New Designs from Vintage Treasures Rotten craft book. Fugly projects, and impossible "finds" meant that unless you had access to an entire French flea market, you would have no chance to make anything remotely like what she made.
