Home to Woefield, by Susan Juby

Home to Woefield: A Novel Fun but still disappointing adult novel from YA favorite Susan Juby. She seems to have been going for the same kind of laugh-out-loud absurdity she brought into Alice, I Think, and so on, but it just slightly missed. Brooklynite inherits a run down farm- think 2011 Green Acres with more babbling about sustainability and heirloom radishes.

Getting the Girl, by Susan Juby

I really enjoy Susan Juby's YA books. Her teens are always interesting, funny, and read so real. This was another good one from her- Sherman is determined to find out who at his high school instigates social ostracisms, and the story is classic Juby- some parts laugh out loud, and the rest just damn good.

Alice, I Think, by Susan Juby

This was such a fun book. I loved it.

Alice is one of the most authentic teen voices I've encountered in reading (a ton of) YA books. Her journal is hilarious, thoughful, weird, and so good. She has been homeschooled, gets into the strangest situations, has horrendous haircuts and surprising taste in clothes.

Alice decides to try going to high school, out of sympathy for her therapist... You know what? I loved this book so much that I don't even think I can summarize it neatly.
