I've Got Your Number, by Sophie Kinsella
Delightful, light and funny romance from the uneven Kinsella. This one is a winner, though. When her phone is stolen, Poppy steals another phone for reasons already complicated. Through the new phone, she and Sam begin an exchange of messages that are just really well done. One of the better romance/text message books I've read.

40 Love, by Madeleine Wickham
Blogger won't let me add the cover. GRRRRR!!!!!
Cleverly done novel. 4 couples with varied ties to each other interact over a weekend tennis tournament being held by Patrick and Caroline, who have come far from their roots and are trying to impress some new friends, while Caroline still wants to remain close with Annie and Stephen, old friends from their old neighborhood. Intricate class issues come into play, but the book doesn't slam the old or the new or the no money- it was just a delicately done novel of manners.

Twenties Girl, by Sophie Kinsella
As always, fun. I wonder how much longer she will keep the Madeleine Wickham and the Sophie Kinsella writing separate- I think this very much blurred the line, as did The Wedding Girl. I had thought that she was keeping the Wickham for more kind of lit-fic style writing, and Kinsella for the sex+shoes kind of writing, but both The Wedding Girl and Twenties Girl had the same kind of Katie Fforde went to London vibe, and it seems silly almost to keep the brands separate. Just saying.Anyway, this was great fun, for what it is.

The Gatecrasher, by Madeleine Wickham

This was good, despite an awful premise. I think Wickham/Kinsella is a really good writer who just hasn't found her real topics yet- although with the sacks of money she must be making off the Shopaholic books, I guess she doesn't need to strive away at lit fic anymore. It's just even in the really not-so-good books of hers that seem to be being re-released with covers that scream out Sophie Kinsella- author of Shopaholic! she has a good voice, and nice details, and great style.
